I would like to add something with my clown trigger, preferaby a Tang. I
currently have a volitain and two damsels (which will probably go with any new
addition).

Any recommendations? The clown is only about 2" long.

I have seen quite a few tangs with triggers and lions with no problems as
long as they are of appropriate size in relation to the trigger/lion.

I wouldn't worry about the damsels as they will become lunch soon enough
IME.

What is the size of your tank? This is a very important consideration.

A clown trigger needs plenty of room. So does a Volitans.
If you are keeping even just those two fish together and no other, the
tank should be minumum 100 gals and even that is too small in my
opinion. When adult size is reached bothe those fish will be about a
foot in length at the minimum. I have seen a trigger and a Volitans in a
100 gal tank and the trigger accidentally blundered into the Volitans
who struck back in "self defense". The result was not pretty. The
trigger died a painful death.

I'm surprised you don't have a WWWF tag team event. Maybe you can sell
tickets to the show as one fish tries to beat on the other. Or you might
take bets as to which one grows fast enough to out muscle the other guy. Now
all you need to do is ask someone to climb into the tank and you'll have a
new TV show that rivals "Fear Factor". Sorry I shouldn't be so sarcastic. I
wouldn't suggest adding any other fish until you get a paying audience. Then
you could try adding three or four sea horses, a long spined urchin, and a
really expensive giant clam.

Just kidding. Please don't try this at home.
