Default What filter system to use? (fish live salt reef)

I have a new 55 gal tank to put salt water fish in. I live in the Florida
keys so access to the good water & fish is not a problem.

I will start with an undergravel filter because I have it.

The next step is a wet/dry filter with bacteria laden media?

How about a protein skimmer?? Any good web-sites??

Default What filter system to use? (blue back fish live)

Do yourself and your fish a favor right from the start. Put live rock in the
tank, a couple of red leg and blue leg hermit crabs, and couple of turbo
snails. Set up a sump below the tank, put in a good protein skimmer and a
strong return pump. Now sit back and enjoy your fish.
