Default Heater location (freshwater)

Where is the best place to locate my heater. I have a 150w tronic in a 33
gallon freshwater tank. Right now its placed on the right half of the tank,
the filter is on the left half. i was thinking of moving the heater next to
the filter output or near the filters input.

What is the best height for the filters intake? mine is about an inch off
the buttom but i was thinking it might be better closer to the middle.
thanks in advance.

yeah, I like near the intake of any device that is pushing water
around...the idea is to pull water over the heater.

that might be a little close to the bottom...some books I've read recommend
more towards the middle to avoid sucking in the stuff you are supposed to
remove via a gravel vacuuming.
