Sienna vs Odyssey
Perhaps they are used to selling sports cars SUVs or some other kind of
vehicle who's price is affected more by the status factor.
The Honda salesdroid we dealt with acted as if deciding on any vehicle
other than a Honda was just beyond comprehension. When he asked what other
vehicles we were considering, we mentioned the Sienna. He spent the next
few minutes trashing the Sienna. Sure this is unprofessional but more
importantly, it indicates that the product he's selling doesn't measure up
if he has to spend the brief time he has our ear talking about the
competition.
When the same question came up at the Toyota dealer, the response was much
different. "Cant go wrong with either the Sienna or the Odyssey, both are
great vehicles. Did you see the <fill in the feature here> on the Odyssey,
it's a little different on the Sienna, let me show you."
That's how you sell a vehicle. Give me information, let me make up my own
mind.
