For those of you with '90-99 eclipses/talons/lasers (all engines +
drivelines) there are many websites out there that cater exclusively to
these cars (DSMs) that include help with problem solving, the
buying and selling of used parts, and databases showing/explaining all
things T/E/L and much more. These DSM websites include:

DSMTUNERS.COM
DSMTALK.COM
DSMTRADER.COM (BUY/SELL PARTS)
CLUBDSM.COM
etc...

AND there are many regional DSM sites like NJDSM + NYCCDSM (these 2
pertain to me -- I live in NJ near NYC)

There are also DSM specific shops scattered around the country that IMO
put mitsu dealers to shame in terms of cost and quality of service.

I pumped tons of $$$ into my '91 Talon (turbo) BEFORE I got plugged
into all the resources that are out there.

Good luck, Greg

Yes, that pretty much why old school guys like Nobody u know and I still
hang out here; to redirect noobs and to save them from Satan (Dealer).
The dealer won't tell you that the caps to repair your ECU are on Ebay for
$3.00 because he wants to sell you that new computer for $1,200.00!

Simpleton, I didn't quite understand what the heck you are talking
about -- can you clarify? Is there a problem with letting '90-99
eclipse owners know that there a ton of invaluable resources out there
for them? I recommend these cars to people to buy ONLY IF they are
willing to learn about them through websites like the ones I mentioned,
are willing to get a chilton manual, an analog voltmeter to read
trouble codes + test sensors, and to do one's own basic
troubleshooting + repairs. A HUGE part of the equation is to avoid
Mitsu dealers and your local joe mechanic who are going to F%$! up these
cars -- making your life so miserable that you are going to want to get
rid of them.
OTHERWISE, I strongly urge those who don't have the time or energy to
spend on these particular Mitsu's to shop for a more reliable and
simpler automobile -- I am referring to the 1 + 2g turbo models here.
They are great cars but they require a lot of attention. As I
mentioned earlier I had a used 1g turbo for 8 yrs and in the 1st 6 yrs
I've owned it I put over 10 grand into it because I only knew about
Mitsu and joe mechanic for parts and service. Only reason I hung on to
it is because I really loved that thing. Well, 2+ yrs ago I plugged
into the internet and now I'm shopping around for another 1g turbo
(currently have a 1g non-turbo). Without the alternatives to Mitsu
dealers for parts and service I wouldn't even think about owning a 1 0r
2g turbo.

My bad simpleton -- I misread your post. I guess I was expecting some
flack for coming on here and posting OTHER websites dealing with
mitsu's.

This was the 1st mitsu site I discovered and posted on over 2 yrs ago.
Then somebody here directed me to NYCCDSM even though I live New
Jersey. I posted there until somebody there said I should try NJDSM --
DOH! From there I learned about the national websites and since then
I've been reading about and learning a great deal about my car and cars
in general. Had I owned a Honda I would know next to nothing about
cars -)

Right on....What car? What motor? By "wants to start", do you mean that the
ignition provides a spark or mearly that the starter turns the motor over?
The more specific you are, the better we are able to help.
