Space Station crew preps for space walk
MOSCOW, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- The crew of the International Space
Station will use this week to prepare for next week's space walk,
Novosti reported Tuesday.
Despite a heavy magnetic storm, Russian cosmonaut Salizhan
Sharipov and U.S. astronaut Leroy Chiao will spend Tuesday and
Wednesday selecting tools for next week's space walk.
They will prepare their spacesuits Thursday, after which
they will hold talks with experts, complete the spacesuit check,
gauge pressure in the onboard oxygen units and assess medical
monitoring equipment.
The space walk is set for a week from Thursday.
