My Mutunuc (sp??) engine runs ok-ish but could do with just a little more
screwing in of the main needle-but there's the problem-the needle is already
screwed right in and wont go any more....
A passing 'expert' reckons an air leak (where??)-any thoughts/cures??
TIA

Engine woes
I might be miles off track but once had an engine where the needle didn't
quite screw all the way in as the threaded sleeve was too near the point.
The thread therefore "bottomed out" before the needle closed. I don't know
the engine you have but I have an early MDS "gold head 10cc" with a crap
carb that leaks around the main throttle barrel. I might get a carb off Paul
at Just Engines sometime as it has loads of grunt! HTH

Sounds like an air leak. Try removing the carb, de-greasing it all with
some meths and then put it back together with a smear of epoxy around
the carb to seal it.
If not, then try what Dave suggests.
