Default Kyosho concept 46 VR problem

Hi all.
I have got the heli mentioned in the subject line, and i'm very new at this
but i'm tying to learn.
I'm hovering without the help of any support constructions under the skid
set now,and suddently the rod from the servo controlling the tailrotor
blades came off at the tail gear case.
The screw connecting the rod to the tail gear case had broked off.
Luckyly i was at low altitude and landed the heli without any damages to the
heli.
My question is:
Is this a normal problem for this concept model?
How much can i expect to pay for a new tail gear case?

With kind regards

No, in fact it's very unusual IF the tail rotor blade holders aren't dying
of friction or being battered on the ground (quite a common occurence when
you're learning btw)

There should be NO effert required to alter the pitch of the tail blades,
and if there is, the stress is right on the screw and the bellcrank and case
and if one doesn't give up, one of the others will, so.. you know what to do
now, check for NO friction at all in the tail rotor set up.

Not a lot. A few quid maybe, but they're not an expensive item

Thanks for the answer Beav.
The heli has not been battered to the ground, but it is alot of friction when
i'm doing the take off, cause i wanna be soft on the stick and maintain full
control of the model.
There is alot of shaking at that point, and i'm to nervous to lift to high
off the ground.
Hovering in 10-30 centimeters off the ground, getting very sweat in my palms.

LOL :-)

Whith kind regards

I'm wondering if we've got a slight communication problem here Lasse. When I
talk of friction, I mean for you to look closely at the tail blade holders.
They should change pitch VERY easily when you've disconnected the pushrod
and operate the linkage by hand. Look at the pitch slider too, (it's on the
output shaft of the tail rotor) as this should slide along the shaft with
ABSOLUTELY no effort. Make sure the balls and links aren't stiff too, in
fact make sure EVERYTHING is totally unrestriced when you move the linkage by hand.

If you've balanced everything, the shaking is probably due to the blades not
being in their "flying position" but centrifugal force will eventually pull
tthem to that position. When the rotor rpm's are close to "flying" rpm's,
there should be NO shaking and if there is, you've got either a balance
problem, or the main blades are too tight in their holders. Things to check eh? :-)

palms.

Well you're not the first one, and I doubt you'll be the last. We aLL went
through that period, and my advice to you is to enjoy it, because you'll
never get the chance to do it again once you can hover.

:-)

It's working great.

The shaking stops at the point where the model is aboute to take off.

I just love the fealing of adrenalin pumping through my body.
LOL ;-)
But the fealing is not so strong like it was in the beginning, and i think
it's thanks to the PC simulator Easyfly training.
One thing aboute this simulator is that after a while i'm getting bored
flying the same scenery over and over again.

LOL ;-)
I guess it's just a lux problem.

Good. It needs to be

In that case, it will be just the position of the blades during spool up
time. If you don't like it, try adjusting the tightness of the blade grips
slightly. Sometimes it happens because they're too slack and sometimes
because they're too tight, so a little experimenting is all that's required.

Dont we all:-))

You should be looking at the heli not the scenery
