A simulator is worth alot, but try dowloading FMS for free, and build your
on interface to the tx (plans are available).

Try looking at Reflex.

There's a new version just out called XTR and if you look on Runryder
(http://www.runryder.com) under simulators, you'll see that it's so popular,
probably because of the unbelieveable video like quality.

Don't get me wrong, the realism is really good too, it's just that realism
alone doesn't cut it. Take for example CSM V10 - that's really realistic (I
actually learnt on that then flew circuits and figure 8's on the real one
within 10 mins), but the poor graphics let it down.

Reflex is also way cheaper than RealFlight. In the UK, the old version of
Reflex was £99, but now XTR is out, I think it's £129

Don't even think twice about getting a sim - they're worth there weight in
gold, and will save you a fortune in the long run.

Cheers

Dee

Hi David,

The initial outlay my sound a lot, but trust me, it is way cheaper than
crashing your heli frequently while learning to fly. I bought G2 about a
month before I bought my first heli, and by the time I had my heli setup, I
could fly all the basic manouvers.

I own both G2 and Reflex XTR. I prefere G2, as it comes with its own Tx, so
I don't need to charge batteries over and over. Not to mention, you can
fly G2 with our own Tx as well if you want. Reflex XTR looks great, and
nothing compares, but the heli's just doesn't react/feel the same as the
real thing (maybe I just haven't mastered the settings yet).

Get yourself a simulator! You can even fly in winter. :-)
