1996 chevy lumina van

my van runs good for a few days then it starts sputtring like it isn't
getting any gas. I let it sit for a few hours and its ok for a week or so.
could it be my fuel filter.

Have the fuel pressure tested and check for codes with a scanner, or you
will be guessing and spending money wasted.
