If they make a 2007 Camaro I will be there to buy one as long as it's a V8
and will run with the Mustang GT.

Hell, I want mine to run with the Cobra, Steeda, or the Saleen.
Anything else is just not worth it.

Hopefully GM will take their heads out of the sand:

And make it piss on the Mustang?

LS2? GM sure has lost their performance appetite. Looks like they handed it
all over to the competition, I don't want to run a Pontiac. I like Chevy,
even though the motors are comparable with the exception of a few bolts
placed differently.

Will Chevy ever bring back something that will be respected in Pro Stock,
now that the Cavalier is going?

Im a Chevy man too. Chevy does have the Monte Carlo. It might have a
larger body then the J-Cars did, but it's predy damn aerodynamic. Put old
WJ or his son in one, and ill bet they get PRO 1 or PRO 2 again.

It's all D.R.C.E. Baby. That's the WJ specialty. Hell he helped develop it.
They body is just the perdy wrapper.

I'm not going to say that, myself. I've got an '85 Berlinetta that I've
recently begun "constantly hunting for parts" for, since they were only made
for 2 (3?) years, and the majority of parts failures seem to be in the
"Berlinetta-specific" parts range.

Boy, am I kickin' myself in the ass for dumping that '84 Berlinetta parts
car a couple years back!

What I've seen of the new Mustang isn't quite to what I could honestly say
is the same build quality as we've all grown accustomed to with the Camaro
line, but it IS a Mustang in not only name, but also in size and power
(depending on what model you're getting, of course.)

I'm honestly rather tossed-up over whether or not I'll be going back to
Mustang after decades of saying "I'll never buy another goddamned Ford again
until they start making REAL Mustangs again!!!"...now they are making them
again...but on the other hand, I'm used to Camaros...decisions,
decisions...but ONLY if there IS a new Camaro to compete with the
newly-reborn Mustang!

Any way you slice it, you've got cheese in the trap at the Ford showrooms,
and all you've got from GM is a hermetically-sealed piece of yellow stuff in
plastic wrap that may or may not ever come back to the streets.

The choice, for the moment, is clear, as you only HAVE one
choice...unless, of course, you've got 70+ grand for a 'Vette...which I
simply don't feel as comfortable in as I do ANY Camaro or ANY Mustang.
(Well, OK....not one of those Mustang II shitboxes, or any of those 'Mercury
Capri with a little horsie stuck on the front' rustroids...but you get my
point.

Monte Carlo? You call THAT piece of wind-tunnel-designed garbage a
Monte?! I'll bet you like what they did to the Cutlass too?! :O

GM's gotta get DESIGNERS back in play again...just like I told the head of
the (@*#in design team at the Auto Show in 98 or 99 in Detroit. CHRYSLER
listened and released the Prowler, and the "revised Cobra" (aka: Viper)
which SHOULD have been a FORD anyway...ten years later...so I guess common
sense finally crept into ONE of the Big 3's heads...but come on,
people....can we honestly expect any intelligent design work from ANY
COMPANY which would even allow DESIGNS to be drawn up for the Pontiac Aztek,
let alone bring that hideous pile of shit to market?! :O

Issues:
1) Bring back DESIGNERS (aka: ARTISTS) into the design labs like they
had in the early years.
2) AFTER a successful and impressive design is laid out by the artists,
THEN let the engineers at it.
3) AFTER the engineers have their "Alpha Run" at the car, then build a
"Alpha Prototype" that can be made available to NDA-signed MECHANICS, as
THOSE are the people who are going to find the repair bugs first...god knows
dealers haven't got a clue how to fix a car!!!
4) Second (Beta) engineering run on chassis and engine.
5) Second (Beta) mechanic testing.
6) Build a Release-revision Prototype.
7) Let the mechanics have at it.
8) Tweak and refine the design for final release, based on MECHANIC's
recommendations.
9) Release the new car to the public.

If they had any common sense at all, ALL of those steps would be followed
TO THE LETTER...and we'd never be forced to see garbage like the Aztek
again...or see our good designs get trashed, such as they did with the
Cutlass and Monte...
