The shoe facing the front of the vehicle is designated the "secondary" while
the shoe facing the rear of the vehicle is the "primary". The primary shoe does more of the stopping due to the physics involved with a vehicle moving forward and therefore has a longer surface area to contact the drum. Some vehicles have both primary and secondary shoes of the same length. There are two different brake options on Tahoes depending on which suspension package the vehcile was built on. That determines whether 10" or 11" diameter brakes are used. measure the inside diameter of the drum to determine which one you have. -- Steve Spence Independent AMSOIL Dealer AMSOIL - The "Once A Year" Oil Change Unemployed Car Guy - Trying to Earn A Living 35 Years of GM Parts Experience http://synthetic-oil-tech.com/1690163 amsoil1@charter.net |
