Default chevy cavalier



Got a ? my girlfriend just bought a 2002 chevy cavilier , was wanting to
know how hard it would be to change the fan switch and her temp gauge
goes up to 195 was just wondering if that was normal any help would be
apprecitated and thanks

Since the thermostat is set for 195 I don't think you have a problem.
Don't know about the fan switch but usually they are not too hard to
get to.

Normal gage reading will be 198-210 depending on load. Fan switch seldom
go bad, more likely fan motor, and its a bit of a bastard to change. Unbolt
top radiator mounts, then from bottom, remove the single retaining bolt for
the cooling fan housing located center of radiator area. Remove the six
bolts that hold the lower "crossmember" the radiator sitson and gently move
it and the radiator foreward to gain enough clearnace for fan assembly to
drop out.. Nut that holds fan balde on motor is left hand thread.

On a 2002 the fan goes on with the AC. Easy check.
