Default need help on a 71 paint issue

just recently finished repainting my 71 coupe with the 2002 corvette electro
blue. It looks great and the painter did a really nice job.

The problem that has come up, is that on the hood, just above the air
breather area, the paint has air pockets. The guy who painted it, took the
hood back and repainted it again and while the air pockets are not as many,
it is still occuring. We did paint the inside a flat black, as many other
vettes that we looked, were also painted a flat black.

Could this be caused by the heat of the motor?? and if so, what would be the
fix??

Any suggestions as to why or how, and what can be done would be appreciated.

Thanks
JJJoseph

My guess would be that it's not air blisters, more like water or solvent
trying to gas off. Take it back down to glass, bake it out, re-resin it, dry
sand it back to shape, prime, bake it out, re-prime, a second prime bake out
wouldn't hurt, and repaint. Sometimes that area of the hood has met with
some delaminating for a small carburetor fire and the liquid gets trapped in
the porosity.

Thats my "guess" also.. !

Had the same problem with my daughters Fierro... Only cure was get it
down to the bare Composit material in its case then bake the hood...
prime it followed by anopthetr baking process.... that was over 10
years ago and the paint is just fine today....

Default BS paint issue (Subject changed)

Can't think of any reason this would be done but you're right on. It
was posted a while back with the same problem. I didn't reply this
time because I didn't want the topic to get any further notoriety.

Looks like potential foul play of some sort. 'Bankarea' website is in
Bucharest, Romaina. If it continues: abuse@ines.ro

Sheesh. If they can't spell "our" they can't program.
