Hesitation

I just bought this car three months ago. It is a 2001. When I take off
the car hesitates. I put my foot all the way down on the gas and there
is no power. When driving on the freeway, it takes a good 2-3 miles
before it will pick up speed. 118,000 miles on this car. Any suggestions
would be great.
