Hi-

Does anyone have a tire (P215/60R15) recommendation for the malibu? My
2000 Malibu LS is due for tires, after 63,000 miles. The Firesone
Affinity's have fared well, but I'm looking into Michelin/Goodyear.

Also, should the tire pressue on the door always be used? I've always
used the same pressure for front & rear tires.

Any thoughts?

I installed a set of Goodyear Eagle HP tires on my 2000 Malibu about 9
months ago. So far I am very pleased with them. The ride is definitely
firmer than it was with the Firestone OEM tires, but not harsh. Wet weather
control feels good also. I keep all the tires at 30 psig.

I find the Firestones on my 2003 pick up a lot of noise from the road and
really don't give you a very good "feel" of the road , they seen to
"hard".

Do you find the Eagle's give you less road noise in the car and are a
little easier on the little holes and divots that you tend to feel so
much with the Firestones??

Personally i hate Firestone tires and would like to ditch these for some
Goodyears or Michelins , but with only 34000k on these things , i can't
get rid of them quite yet.

The Goodyears are no louder than the Flintstones were - probably a little
more quiet. But then, the Affinity's weren't that bad anyway as far as road
noise. The ride over bumps, potholes,etc, is pretty good, especially on a
car with 42,000 miles and all of the original suspension components.

bridgestone and pirelli both worked great for me.

the firestone affinitys that came on my ls were a total POS and wore
slick after 40k highway miles. the bridgestone and pirellis lasted
75k under the same driver and same driving conditions, so there you
have it.

i put goodyears on a pickup awhile back, and i'm seeing too much wear
for very few miles, so goodyear is off my list.

I had a hard time finding good tires for my 2003 Malibu and ended up putting
on some "H" rated rubbers from Poland. They are quiet and ride really nice,
but the "H" rating will have no grip whatsoever when the road tenprature is
below freezing.

The Pirellis on my daughter's car were just plain junk. Noisy and virtually
falling apart. She was able to get some really nice "Co-op" brand tires
from a family friend in the industry, but they don't make the size that fits
the Malibu.

Hi..
Just installed the new Michelin HydroEdge on my 1998 Malibu.
Ride is excellent, never had such a big difference between tires.
Seem like I also changed the suspension, totally amazing.

I have a 98 Malibu, I just bought a set of 4 Cooper Cobras, they're really
good in rainy weather and only cost me $65 a tire including a 50,000 mile
warranty. Good luck.

The OEM tires are a little small for the car. Throw some P215/70R15’s
on it and it will look a lot better. It raised my speedometer by 3mph
(nominal) and the tires cost $35 each. Go to Sams.
