Searching for The Garden of Earthy Delights? Drive northwest from
Danli, Honduras until you get to Francisco Morazan province. You'll
find yourself in the luxuriant Talanga Valley, where the luscious
wrapper leaf used for Olor Fuerte cigars is grown.
It's also the key ingredient found in these af- fordable, full-

Talanga Cubano wrapper is grown in what's called the "encallado"
method in which the tobacco plants are surrounded by *tapados*
(tents), and thick rows of tall, king grass to help protect the leaves
from the valley's blustery winds. Add in the hot Honduran sun, and the
result is an oily, tawny-colored leaf with a naturally sweet and spicy
flavor.

Let's take a peak under the hood, shall we? Inside each Olor Fuerte is
a diverse, well-balanced blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Brazilian
longfiller tobaccos with a milder Mexican San Andreas binder.
That's a nice rich mix.

If I had to make a comparison, I'd say that if you prefer Hondurans
with a fairly complex and sweet, dark tobacco flavor like the Rocky
Patel Vintage for example, the Olor Fuerte will float your boat.
(Coincidentally, the Talanga Cubano wrapper was developed by Jesus
Fuego, who before going solo, was the master blender for many of
Patel's best
cigars.) The smoke is creamy, smooth and chock-full of caramelized
flavors. They have an especially tasty "un-lit" flavor, too, which
works well if you tend to be more of a chomper.
