Default A return to ASC (cigars humidor)

Hey all, I thought I'd drop back in for a while and see how it's going.
It's been about 4 years since I was last in here, anyone miss me?

So why am I back? Well, I blew a bit of my money stockpiling cigars
during the boom, all while going to college. In 2001 a health problem
led to a halt in herfing, and I just started back up again a few months
ago, though only at about every other weekly poker night. No problems
so far, so I've been thinking it might be time to replenish my humidor.
See, I like to gift out cigars when playing poker with my buddies, but
I've pretty much ran out of cigars to smoke or gift. I only have the
ones left I've been saving for special occations (now wonderfully aged).
So I've been thinking I should invest in some good "daily" smokers,
stuff I will enjoy smoking but won't waste my limited funds or be wasted
on some of my friends with less "refined" palletes. Unfortunately, It's
been 4 years since I've even bought cigars, and just looking at the
market today, I'm kinda confused, so here I am, back at the group.

So, can anyone suggest some good bundles? I've ordered from Famous and
JR in the past and have been happy with their service. I don't have much
to spend since I'm currently unemployed, which is the reason I'm
enquiring about the bundles, but if there's any non-bundle deals out
there, I'd be interested in hearing about them too. As for taste, I
prefer a medium to full bodied cigar, usually maduro wrapper, size isn't
important though I rarely have the time to tackle a lonsdale or
churchill (though they would probably be good for pokernight). I tended
to do well with Nicaraguans in the past, though it's been a while since
I've had one. If anyone can help, I'd much appreciate it. Anyways, I
look forward to participating in the group again.

Welcome back!!

You may remember Uncle Mikey - he's now the proud owner of mrbundles.com.
Check out his website, give him a call and see what he suggests. JR Cigars,
along with Mike's sell Consuegra's - seconds of various Villazon cigars -
the Connie #9 is a favorite around these parts - but they usualy require
some aging time. there are also lots of inexpensive non-bundled cigars -
Maria Mancini comes to mind - JR has those.

Good luck,
Sandy K.

Welcome back Langston.
IMO the best of the bundle smokes is El Credito, I prefer the robusto in
maduro. Go http://www.holts.com
A close second is Consuegra from JR's, a lot cheaper but then you get
what you pay for.
Both lines I would put in the medium range.
Lastly you should give Uncle Mikey a look/call at
http://www.mrbundles.com/front.asp
he's a hoot to talk to, has possibly the best prices on Torano and he
carries some very good bundles.

I can't say that I missed you, but I can say that I remember you. Welcome back!

I have had many Roly bundles lately, and they've been pretty good. And
cheap. I'm still a committed El Credito smoker and they're very reasonable
as well. Check the usual suspects for prices, but the ECs are $30-$45 and
the Rolys are even less.

Apparently your hiatus from the group has not dulled your mooching
abilities. Good try!
