Kerry: I don't smoke cigars...but my family does...
Bush: Punch Rothschild EMS Kerry: The Punch Rothy was the wrong cigar at the wrong time. Bush: Punch Rotschild EMS Kerry: I actually did smoke the Punch Rothschild EMS, before I smoked something else. Bush: Punch Rotschild EMS Kerry: Išve met foreign leaders who canšt go out and say this publicly, but boy they look at you and say, łYoušve got to smoke Partagas Blacks, youšve got to smoke these, we need a new policy,˛ things like that... Bush: Punch Rothschild EMS Kerry: I don't think any United States Senator is going to abandon the Punch Rothschild EMS and recklessly leave Punch to whatever follows as a result of simply clipping and running. That's irresponsible. Bush: Punch Rothschild EMS Kerry: Because I saw what was happening, I voted against Punch...absolutely voted against Punch. I'm glad I voted against Punch. Because we now see that 20 sticks haven't even been smoked effectively. Most of them smoked by Halliburton in fraud and no-bid herfs which is inappropriate. I'd fire Halliburton tomorrow. Bush: Punch Rothschild EMS Kerry: I said at the time that I would have preferred to have given fermenting a greater opportunity, but I think it was the right decision to go with Punch Rothschild EMS, and when the President made that decision, I supported him, and I support the fact that we did go with Punch Rothschild EMS. Bush: Punch Rothschild EMS Kerry: I voted to threaten the use of Punch Rothschild EMS to comply with the resolutions of the United Nations. I owe ShaxBeard a cigar for that.
:> Debate Question: :> :> Mr Kerry, and President Bush, what kind of cigar do you like? : : In honor of last night's debate: : : Kerry: I'm glad you asked that question, and I'm going to tell you why : I think it's an important question for the American people and for the : country as a whole. I have some experience with cigars--as a young man : I once smoked a cigar in Vietnam. [bangs hands repeatedly against : podium] Some people didn't like that I smoked a cigar, but I did it : anyway. But more importantly, I think it's obvious that this president : has repeatedly demonstrated that he is unable to smoke a cigar the : right way. [more pointless podium banging] As president, what I will do : is bring in our allies and the United Nations to decide what kind of : cigar we will smoke together--I'll involve General Whats-his-name and : Ambassador Never-heard-o-him, who both publicly support my cigar : smoking. You know, I was in Podunk, Idaho, yesterday and I was shaking : the hands of two military men in line--one of them currently a cigar : smoker, the other one a former cigar smoker--and both of them said to : me, "Senator, we need you. Do you have a light?" [pause for violent, : spasmodic hand banging] I can do this. Thank you. : : Bush: [sighs] Well . . . boy . . . I mean, I just don't know. [sighs] I : think everybody knows I can smoke a cigar, but it's hard work. : [dramatic dear-in-the-headlights pause] It's hard work, but it's work : so that we can one day smoke a cigar in freedom. I believe that people : want to smoke cigars in freedom, that they deserve to smoke cigars in : freedom, and that the world will be a safer place once we are able to : smoke cigars in freedom. Terrorists don't want us to smoke cigars. : [another pause] Hard work. [pause] Terrorists. [pause] Freedom. [pause, : then nods to the moderator even though he still has 20 seconds left to : speak] : : Note how neither speaker ever answers the question. : : Rob : -- Tom Line tlineN0_SPAM@iglou.com |
