a friend went to mexico and brought me back as a gift a case of 25 "cohiba
churchills". having heard about the many cohiba fakes out there, i
researched a bit and i suspect these are fakes, but i'm wondering if anyone
can tell me with certainty. the box appears to be kosher, sealed by the
"republica de cuba" seal and the "habanos" logo, and emblazoned script on
the sides and bottom. the case is glass-topped, but the individual seals on
the cigars--"cohiba, la habana, cuba"--seem to be cut differently. also
included is a wooden humidor stick with the cohiba logo and the word
"humidor" printed on it, though the stick appears to be too small to fit a
churchill. if these are not the real thing, any idea what kind of guts these
knock-offs have?

I hope he didn't pay much...Please smell each stick before you smoke it!!!!
I bought 1 as a joke for someone and it smells like rotten meat..

BTW Cohiba has never put churchills in a glass top box.

The stickers are fake along with the seals, and what you have has never seen
Cuba the cigars are made local probably.

I garner this info from friends in Mexico along with some chatty venders
there.

For some reason the glass top cohiba still sells even though it is
immediately recognized as Fake. It is a nice job of packaging though.
