Default Mexico (mexican)

Hello;

My father is getting married in a couple of weeks and their honeymoon is
heading to mexico. I noted a lot of mexican cigarshops on the cigargroup
site.

Anyone has an idea about the pricelevel of habanas compared to cuba's
prices??, maybe a pricelist??

Regards from flandres.

Filip

The situation in Mexico is quite simple : 90%+ of fakes - only half a dozen
shops sell real Cuban cigars; obscene prices - 50 to 60% higher than in
Belgium; poor selection - except in a couple of quality stores.

The LCDH in Tijuana appeared (to me) to have a good selection and reasonable
pricing. I think I paid $12US for a Siglo VI and $8US for a Bolivar Tubos
#3. I really haven't had a chance to visit other countries (other than
$Canada) to see how their prices compare. And, FWIW, Tijuana is in B.C., not
Mexico so pricing structures could be different enough to alter my
impression. Lots of fakes to be seen in Los Algodones.

That's like saying San Diego is in California, so it's not in the US.
As much as we'd like.........................

He speaks truth, though, Hutch. There's that 12-mile border zone where they
keep a pretty tight rein on tourist trade, and I believe that's what he's
referring to. I always felt better buying stuff in C. Juarez than in
Chihuahua, where there were no holds barred....

Yeah, that's what I was referring to. I didn't see any mention of a specific
location inside Mexico so I stuck with locations I was familar with. When I
think Mexico, I think "south". Tijuana, Mexicali, Los Algondones, C. Juarez,
all those places may be "Mexico" but they're not Mazatlan, Monterrey, Mexico
City, etc. The places near the border have different rules regarding tourist
trade.

Next time I come south, let's head for the border. I still know my way
around Ciudad Juarez.... ;-)

More like $25 for a Siglo VI in LCDH TJ, Vex. You were there last Friday
night, if memory serves....did the Mrs. get her "shopping fix" taken care
of? Did you get to go back for another round in the LCDH?
