Default Ohio Pulls the Plug, States Broke, Can't Afford Deficit

COLUMBUS -- Gov. Ted Strickland and legislative leaders knew just
where to look for a handout to help pay for a $1.57 billion job-
creation package: the people trying to get smokers to quit.

Shelly Kiser, director of advocacy for the anti-smoking American Lung
Association of Ohio, said the money shouldn't be going to a new job-
creation initiative but to jobs for the cardiologists and nurses who
will be needed if more people start smoking or don't quit. If smokers
fill many of the jobs the new jobs package promises, companies can
count on lost production from people out sick.

While non will be needed because everyone just quit smoking, she see's
a need
to train and hire more of the useless people.

Heart Job in Ohio $150-250 K $
Heart Job in India or Thaiwan 25K max.

Just job it out!

Ohio needs more trash collectors to clear out these offices
used by Shelly Kiser's staff.

Hospitals in Ohio have been closing down due to Overcharging
and population decline.

Smokers there are voting with their feet.

Buy Your cigarettes on the internet. !

It won't take much longer.!

"We now have a statewide smoking ban. The tax on cigarettes has gone
up, which has driven down usage, and we now have an economic need,"
Husted said. "We've tried to use within our ability the resources we
have available to make smart decisions for the state of Ohio and
that's not always going to make everyone happy."

States like Ohio that rely heavily on smokers through the extra taxes
they pay should not take away incentives to quit, Kiser said.

Smokers screwed again.

More restrictions, higher taxes, less help quitting,
Big Tobacco optimizing the cigarette to addict and keep
addicted, juries ruling against the smoker, tobacco
companies outspending the cancer victim and delaying the
trial date.

You're not paranoid if everyone really is out to get you.

Not content with a smoking ban, Kiser now wants all smokers to be unemployed.

Payments on an Audi S5 (with the B&O audio system, no ashtray) come to $1,471 per month.
And it gets 14 mpg. The wife's BMW 3-series is another $890.

Ok, not unemployed. Let smokers have demeaning jobs.

What would happen to your city if half the people left?

Population in thousands 1960 2000 decline
Youngstown 167 82 51%
Steubenville 37 19 49
Cleveland 876 468 47
Dayton 262 157 40
Cincinnati 503 332 34
Canton 114 82 29
Akron 290 219 24

Or West Virginia, 5 miles from Steubenville (home town of Tracy Lords).

No problem, they have a solution. Keno!
