Padron Anniversary 1926 Series (tobacco cigar humidor)
This is a man's cigar; nice and strong, but not overpowering. The only
thing uncivilized about it is the price: Nearly $27.00 from the
suburban Chicago shop I visisted.
(The guy is a gouger; the same stick, 54 x 6, sells for about $7 less
at Iwan Reis in downtown Chicago. Also there is a stiff tobacco tax in
Illinois).
Anyway, I'm going to place this puppy in the humidor and fire her up
over the weekend. IMHO, this is the finest cigar in the world, beating
the Opus X for consistency and far better than most Cubans. A Cohiba
Esplendido that's right, and I mean right, gives the Anniversary a run
for its money, but I seldom come across Esplendidos that are right
anymore.
I used to have two full boxes of the Anniversarios, but I haven't been
able to splurge lately. But I think I'm on the verge of landing a new
job, and one of the first luxuries I will allow myself will be a new
box of the maduros.
Can't wait.
