Default Review: Ghurkha Expedition Toro. (tobacco cigar cigars)

Ghurkha Expedition Toro
6.0X50
Wrapper: CT/ ECU
Filler/Binder: DR
Cedar wrapped
Price: 85.00/24

I am in the process of cataloguing all of my singles. So as I am going
through them I thought I would smoke some I normally wouldn't reach for.
This was one such cigar.

Appearance: Nicely made with a smooth light wrapper. Had an oily sheen to
it. No noticeable veins and the cap was nicely done.

Pre-light draw: A little tighter than I like but it was not plugged by any
means. Flavor that came through on the draw was woody. Not much spice in it
at this time.

Smoking: Lit cleanly and burned straight for the most part. Only needed one
correction. Ash was a light gray and came off in inch increments. The flavor
was.......ummmmm well the flavor was tobacco. A little woody and VERY little
on the spice notes. Just straight forward tobacco for the most part. I
smoked it to the band then chucked it into the area they are going to
concrete on our pool...)

Overall: Nothing to write home about. Not a bad cigar just underwhelming.
Especially for the price. So many other cigars out there that beat it hands
down. The cigar also had a short finish.....I tend to like a cigar to linger
for a while. This cigar is nothing I would run out and purchase.

6 out of 10

Glad to see your review, and I agree completely. My local shop pushes these
like they are the best cigar made. I've not been very impressed, even tried
the expensive brandy soaked one in the glass tube. Nice brandy overtone but
the flavor was in your words "ummmmmmmmm tobacco."

I also agree...see all the hype on this brand and tried several...... would
have been underwhelmed at a buck apiece, but there $5-7 here in Mn...the land
where nothing is allowed...unless it s taxed...lol
