Great Looking
Good amount of smoke
Great burn
Great Draw
No flavor
No finish
This cigar was a blind taste test from a vendor I have bought from on Yahoo
auctions. Pulled it out of the cello to find a snag at the mid portion of
the cigar. It appeared they ended the roll of the leaf in the middle of the
cigar, which seems weird to me. Anyway, a bit of pectin and some drying time
and all was better. This cigar was a good looking one, sans the snag. Nice
smooth wrapper, good press, good pre light aroma. Once lit it burned
perfectly. Draw was beautiful, ash was light gray but very flakey, and
lasted to about an inch. The cigar produced a generous amount of smoke.
The problem came when I was trying to figure out what tastes (to tell ASC
and the gifting vendor) were present, and there really were not any. I also
thought it was rather mild for my tastes. About half way through I gave up
as it was turning nasty tasting. Went over to the vendor's site and gave it
my review, and found out that it was the Gurkha. Went to Gurkha's website,
and they are touting it as "Bold - Heavy" strength. I also received another
(not the same size..hopefully not the same maker) for trying, and will let
you know the outcome.
