Does anyone remember "Coffin Nails" brand cigarettes, or am I going crazy?

Aren't they the cigarettes in "Clerks" and other related movies?

Well, yeah, that's where I remembered them....sorta.

Back in my "a-bit-too-sloshed/stoned/tired/whatever-to-care" days I seem to
remember actually seeing a pack of them. As an earlier poster said, they
had a skull and crossbones on them.

Didn't Slash from GNR used to smoke them?

My mistake. On further research, the name was "Nails".

Sorry, beyond the Clerks brain fart I've got nothing.

There was no Coffin Nails brand. You might be thinking of Death brand, which came in a
black package with a skull and crossbones, introduced in the UK around 1990. They were a
tax dodge, made in a lower taxed country in Europe and sold by mail order. They went out
of business after the British government insisted on collecting import duties.

There was a Grim Reaper brand with the same packaging introduced in the US in 2002. The
company was named Poison, Inc. I think the company died.

Around 1900, there was a brand named Go To Hell And Buy Your Own.
