Default Which Partagas is similar in taste to Partagas robusto? (robusto partagas cigar cigars)

Tried a partagas robusto and I liked it a lot, but would like to have
a larger longer lasting cigar. Do any of the other larger partagas
cigars taste the same as their robusto?

If you are referring to the non-Cuban variety of Partagas, all of the
sizes within each line (regular, black, rosado, etc) will be very
similar.

Default Which Partagas is similar in taste to Partagas robusto? (robusto tobacco majestic cigar)

You'd probably like the Naturales in the toro size and the Almirantes is a
fine belicoso. If you have a couple of hours to kill, the Partagas #10 is a
fine DC. All of these are also available as seconds in the Old Fashioned
line as well...

Here are my notes from a Partagas Robusto just to see if we're in synch:

Partagas Robusto - 1995
4.5x49
Filler - DR/Mex, Binder - Mex, Wrapper - Cameroon

This was a toothy little robusto with a majestic sheen on its Colorado
colored Cameroon sheath. A bit rustic looking as the roll had some small
wrinkles and the cap was rough. The cigar was springy, and once clipped the
pre light draw was a bit like a wind tunnel with very little resistance. The
red and gold Partagas 1845 band was the prettiest thing about this stick.

Earthy and basic, the smoke poured from this cigar due to the loose roll.
There's no mistaking good Mexican tobacco with its adobe like qualities:
gritty and tasting of the rich soil. Even the background spice offered by
the lovely Cameroon wrapper was obscured by the overwhelming heartiness of
the Mexican blend; it was like putting makeup on a peasant. Unsophisticated
and direct also described the somewhat papery and dusty finish. The cigar
appeared to be double bunched, as the flaky grey ash was split right down
the center as if my an invisible axe, falling to each side before dropping
off at the inch and a half point.

Knowing what to expect, I paired this cigar with a cerveza, and that cool
crisp brew quenched the moderate harshness of the blend allowing me to enjoy
the cigar for what it was. The aroma also smacked of the dry outdoors and
was pleasant in its simplicity. A fine companion after a hard day's work.

Overall this cigar was exactly how I remembered them, inelegant and rustic.
Perversely, that's exactly why I love them as a go to smoke; a palate
cleanser if you will. If you don't like mud wrestling, Busch beer, or paper
plates, you probably won't appreciate Partagas. But if you do like life's
simple pleasures from time to time, then this cigar might help you remember
what cigar smoking is all about. Might Recommend.

Appearance: 8/10
Construction: 7/10
Flavor: 17/20
Finish: 8/10
Smoking experience: 17/20
Aroma: 9/10
Overall impression: 17/20

Total: 83/100

IMO, the Aristocrat (belicoso) is the best of the non-Cuban Partagas line.
It's a bit pricier than other Partagas sizes but, to me, is worth the extra
bucks because it better captures the flavor of the line and it is in a size
(6x50) that I enjoy. Plus, it seems to be the best rolled and most
consistent Partagas.

p.s. If you are a golfer, the Sabrosos in the metal tubes are great for the
course.

Default Which Partagas is similar in taste to Partagas robusto? (robusto robustos)

I haven't had that many of the robustos but I do like the Partagas Lusitania
(DC) although I've had some problems with a tight draw/plugging on the last box
I got.

Default Which Partagas is similar in taste to Partagas robusto? (robusto cigar cigars corona)

I have always wished that every good cigar I've had lasted longer.

The majority of the Partagas are medium bodied cigars. Any one from that
line will taste similarly and have the same strength (except the very long
and the very short).

Personally, I favor corona sizes. I don't know why, I just do. You may
prefer the corona gordas or even churchill lengths. YOu should match the
cigar size to the way you draw. The harder you draw, the larger the cigar
should be (as a rule). But whatever works for you!

Incidently, here's a chart of the Cuban ring sizes:
http://www.cigars-review.org/sizes.htm

Here's a list of American/Caribbean sizes:
http://home.att.net/~denis/cigars/sizes.htm

While the two lists are similar, they aren't the same.
