Default Worst cigar of all time (cigar)

If you let them dry out until they crumble, mash them up, and mix them into
your garden, then they won't have been a total loss.

Default Worst cigar of all time (cigar tobacco)

If you think about it, there's bad tobacco grown everywhere. The good stuff
is grwon in the right conditions, processed by experts, and rolled by
experienced professionals.

The remainder is grown in the back yard, processed by who knows, and rolled
by amateurs. You apparently got some of that.

At least your smoking experience has been expanded.

One of my law school friends used to smoke vanilla-flavored Oliveiras all the
time. And he was Cuban.

About a year/14 months ago, I purchased a couple of bundles of Connie 733's
because the first two bundles I purchased were OK(cheap). After letting
them rest for about a year I started trying to smoke them, they were
plugged, tasted awful, burned uneven and in short were the godawfullest dog
rockets I have ever tried to smoke. Hell I was even getting heartburn from
the damn things!
Blechh, I am off the connies and on the rare corojos and wavells.

I think what you mean to say is: the bulk of commercial tobacco is
farmed by seasoned professionals who care more about deadlines and
profit-margins then in getting a decent leaf, whereas The Good Stuff (to
use your term) is grown in the back yard, each plant lovingly nurtured
as if it were a son, each leaf picked during the exact hour of its
prime, watched carefully every day until it reaches perfection, then
....uh... ok, I'll give you "rolled by amatuers".

Misc "well, that's the story I'm putting in the box, anyway..."

Actually, nicotine (from soaked tobacco strained though a sock) is an
effective insecticide for many bugs (aphids, for instance). The soap is just
a vehicle to make the solution stick to the plants.

While what you say about nicotine is true, soap is also an effective
insecticide for many bugs. A lot of people just use water & a little
dish-soap (ivory works good, and is biodegradable/edible) in a spray
bottle.

Nicotine helps.

They say red peppers and/or Ceyanne/tobasco/etc. work, too, although
I've little experience, there.

Misc "it has a slightly peppery taste..."
