Default Genuine Pre-Embargo Counterfeit Cubans -- wow! (cigars cohiba cuban)

I smoked a box of REAL cuban cohiba's while I was in the Cayman
Islands 10 years ago .. since then I have longed for those cigars. I
finally convinced myself to overlook the silly name and cheap price
and try a Genuine Pre-Embargo Counterfeit Cuban from JR's .. all I can
say is WOW! This cigar hits the mark. I finally found my legal
Cohiba. Well constructed, beautiful oil sheen wrapper, perfect draw,
fantastic taste and finish. Thank you Mr. Perdomo, may you rest in
peace.

For you snobs out there .. you can have your $5 and up cigars ... I
will take my $1.50 counterfeit and be in cigar heaven.

Default Genuine Pre-Embargo Counterfeit Cubans -- wow! (tobacco cigar cigars)

I don't think it is snobbery to appreciate a well made, good tasting cigar
that happens to cost some. If you don't know tobacco from oak leaves and
then wax rhapsodic over any old thing just because it costs $12 per, then
you deserve the label. If you hold your opinion to be the final word on the
subject, you may be a snob. If you are detecting "notes of white pepper"
(like anyone could tell white pepper from black pepper if you put some of
each in the palm of your hand!), you may be a snob.

But to have an informed opinion that a good cigar is good comes across more
like sound judgment.

I think the more sophisticated smokers in this community understand what
makes a good one good. Google "Consuegra" or "Connie" and see how many
accolades have been heaped upon this humble (and bargain priced) stogie.
You may also find among the veterans here that there is a wide variance of
opinion on offerings by Drew Estate. Some like 'em some hate 'em. that's
opinion and taste, not snobbery. Well, maybe it could be snobbery
sometimes. <g>

I choose my cigars based on taste, aroma, construction, consistency, draw,
not hype factor or price. In this category I have found numerous brands
that fall well below the snob line. Oliva Grand Cameroon, Old Fashioned,
Gispert, to name just a few. To agree with you on your main point, Genuine
Pre Embargo blah blah also falls squarely in this camp. It is a silly name
(which makes me laugh to think about it), and wonderful cigar.

Enjoy yours. I know I will enjoy mine.

Yeah, I have a good supply of these tasty things myself. A really fine
inexpensive smoke. Stogie might even agree that they're good bang for
the buck! Nah...

I've been wanting to try some of those. I think now I'll give one a try.

Thanks.
