Default Davidoff Millenium Robusto (From 2001)

I acquired this box back in December of 2001. Time flies.

I smoked it last night, and it was one of the best cigars I have ever had.
If I didn't know better, I would say it was a Cuban. It had all of the
qualities I adore in a Cuban Partagas.

I literally burned my fingers on this one. The sadness is I only have one
left.

And Davidoff has changed the blend in this line of cigars. Why?

Another question: why review something that's no longer available?

Um, because it was good and maybe someone else might have a box or

From what I've seen so far, "Glarb" doesn't think that way.

Well, I couldn't see Fogie's reply until you quoted it. Really, killfile
the idiot and forget him.

The Millennium series has more flavor than the usual Davidoff but I
wouldn't compare its strength to the typical Cuban cigar. The Davidoff
doesn't have nearly the Cuban depth of flavor but does have broader
flavors than the typical unidimentional "fuerte" non Cuban products.
For a mild-medium body, exquisitely made, and abounding luscious
flavors, the Davidoff Millennium fits that bill.

I can assure you this cigar (2001) is available from the Davidoff shop, St.
James,
London. I have one left and am considering re-stocking, as it has an
unusually complex taste.

Marc, with all due respect, you don't think ANY cigar is all that strong. I
was speaking of flavor, however, and not strength. I would agree with you
that the Partagas Cuban is a stronger cigar. My point was that that damned
cigar tasted like a Cuban!

I have not tried the Millenium in the new blend. I would be curious to see
if they made it better or worse. Maybe I'll spring for a four-pack...

IMO the newer ones are "tamer". The originals are more rich....fuller
flavored if you will. I didn't notice any difference in actual strength though.

The Mellenium has more flavor and a bit more strength than the usual
Davidoff. I agree with you, no cigar has tremendous power, but I look
for a great flavor profile, not only strength. It takes a somewhat
trained palate to understand the complexity of an H. Upmann Sir Winston
compared to the H. Upmann Monarch. BTW, with regards to the Davidoff,
show some gusto in life, buy a five pack.
