First time on CigarBid.com, I won all eight of the items I bid on -- and
only two of them went all the way to my auto-bid limit, which was set below the prices at my usual online dealers. Only real disappointment was paying $20 for a five-pack of Arturo Fuente Rothschilds; I was hoping to get them for $16. But that's offset by a big woo-hoo: I scored a 15-stick Otterbox for $22. Please don't tell me I paid too much; I want to enjoy my "bargains" for at least a little while. Some of the items went three hours or more between the last bid (mine) and the end of the auction. Do you suppose most of the usual bidders were busy watching football and I just got lucky? Despite waching auctions (and reading the forum, which wasn't much help)
for a few days before I jumped in, I probably did pay more than I should have for some of the lots I won. OTOH, everything (except the Fuente five-pack) went for substantially less than I would have paid at my usual sources, so I'm satisfied. Now, if only CigarBid would hurry up and ship everything, I could top off my coolerdor and use the Otterbox to hold any overflow. That ought to hold me for a week or two, until I run across something I absolutely have to try ... I suppose I'd might as well start making space for a second cooler now, and avoid the rush.<g> -- Walter Luffman, bucketbutt@bellsouth.net Medina, TN USA Amateur curmudgeon, equal-opportunity annoyer |

Did anyone notice that Cigarbid was offline Dec 25th? Or was it just my ISP?
There were a couple of auctions I won that I could not believe how low the final bid was.
