My first reviews... (cigar)
Well, yesterday (New Year's Eve) marked my first two "real" cigar smoking
experiences. I had an Ashton Corona early in the day, and a Macanudo Hyde
Park at midnight to ring in 2004. Here's my take on them:
Ashton Corona (natural):
Not a bad cigar. Had a pretty strong aroma to it that left my clothes
smelling more than I had hoped, but it wasn't anything intolerable. After
the first half-inch or so, it smoothed out and had a nice woody-taste to it.
Towards the end, it got a bit hot and I noticed it was burning a tad
unevenly. The draw throughout was pretty good...it was never too tight at
all. For the most part it was decent stick, but I don't see myself buying
another any time soon.
Macanudo Hyde Park (natural): Excellent cigar. Plenty smooth with a hint of
woody flavor and an even burn that made it a great pleasure to smoke. It was
good from start to finish, though it did get a tad bitter towards the end.
Still, even with that one fault, it was a great cigar and I will not
hesitate to have another soon.
