Default Cuban Review - 'Trinidad Coloniales'

years, and

Lee!! , I

changes after

that long) I

I got the book at about the same time you did, and exactly
the same thing happened to me. It's a handsome tome, and
the information is excellent. And it's not pricey either --
it costs less than three Trinidad Fundadore!

A good review -- glad to hear your opinions.

It could've been a GREAT review, except you forgot to put the name of
the cigar at the beginning of the textual part of the review.

I know -- it's in the subject line. I'm just being a pain in the ass.
And a LAZY pain in the ass, at that. See, I keep promising that, one of
these days, I'm going to take all the cigar reviews I've collected from
ASC since I've been here (541 & counting from others, including yours,
plus a couple hundred of my own), and put them into a searchable
database.

And, being the lazy PITA that I am, I like to take advantage of the fact
that my OS names drag&drop text clippings after the 1st words in the
clip. So it turns out that I can select-drag-and-drop a review that
starts with the name of the cigar in about 0.5 seconds. Sure: drag,
drop, select, rename-file, drag again only takes about 5 seconds, as
many like to point out -- but I like to point out that that's 10x as
long -- time is precious when you're my age

---

Anyway... Thanks again for sharing your opinion -- I WILL get to that
searchable ASC-reviews DB one of these days! But I'd like to ask you
please, in the future, to try to remember to stick the name of the cigar
at the beginning of the review-text, to save me 90% of the effort of
clip&save-ing it.

Thanks!

I was somewhat underwhelmed by the Cohiba Siglo VI. I've only smoked
one but found it to be a bit mild and lacking stronger flavors. It was
puro Cuban but just not as complex as I would like to have had it. Of
course the Siglo line isn't the Cohiba powerhouse line so I guess I
shouldn't have been surprised.

I too was gifted a copy...great book as a reference. Not a very
"readible" thing however. But I refer to it for historical data.

I had a similar experience with the Siglo VI. I think this
may be one cigar that will benefit from a year or two of
rest in a humidor. Slightly odd, IMO, since the other
Cohibas in the Siglo line are ready to smoke from the time
of purchase (disregarding the usuall settling-in period).

LOL ! I *wish* my copy had been a gift The most valuable info I
got reading it was a broadening of my horizons, so to speak. As a
direct result of reading it I have tried many that I probably wouldn't
have otherwise........among them a few treasures.

As you said in another thread...each to his own. I've found that the
cigars in the *regular* Cohiba line are much more apt to be "ready"
from recent batches, while my Siglos have pretty much always, if not
needed, benefitted from some time. Re: the VI's....when I first got
mine I smoked one and it was quite tasty, but "raw". The second one
was an entirely different cigar....almost flavorless in comparison. I
assumed that this meant it was in a down period and they ought to come
around with some time. I'll find out in a year or two. On a side
note.....I've found it interesting, as well as puzzling, that, during
the proverbial "sick period", some cigars get kind of nasty tasting,
while others get almost bland. I've had many recover from both
symptoms, and understand the nasty, but where does the flavor
"temporarily" go ??

Hi all,

I've heard similar comments about the Siglo VI from a handful of people
here. One of my friends in the business told me that there were some issues
with the lack of consistency from stick to stick. I find that hard to
believe given Cohiba's reputation, but he told me that several people had
brought back the earlier boxes because some were not drawing well.

Also if you're looking for a super strong cigar the Cohiba Siglo range isn't
for you I suppose! For that get a Cuban Bolivar! )
