Default Review: Macanudo Ascot Maduro (cigar)

I've read Dog Rocket describes a bad smoke. I'd designate this one a "Pocket
Rocket".

Small cigar with Big Cigar attitude.

Macanudo Ascot
Origin: DR
Length: 4.25
Ring: 32
Strength: mild-medium
Wrapper: Maduro
Wrapper Type: CT
Binder: Mex
Filler: DR/Mex

Nice little smoke! (I'd call it a Demitasse) I picked up a tin of 10 at my
local tobacconist for $12.95 to try them out. I'm searching for a small
smoke that will give me a moderately good smoke when I have only a short
time. This one fit the bill perfectly. I'm partial to <50 ring size anyway,
but I'll consider something up to that size if I can finish it off in 20
minutes or so.
The overall look-see was good. Construction looked nice, with decent looking
wrapper. Sticks are wrapped in cello with a little "zip strip" up by the
band to get the cello off. Nice touch. Think of a mini HdM Excalibur #IV.
Burn was great, held 1"+ of nice white ash. Very aromatic with a mild,
smooth flavor.
The box even had a DR sticker across the opening. Cool. Got a bit spicy
toward the end and I had to be very careful to keep my draw easy so I
wouldn't heat it up quickly, but if I paid attention, I was rewarded with a
great "quicky" of a maduro. Too bad JR only sells them in lots of 10 boxes
of 10.....
