CI's El Credito "Apprentice" Cigars--Mini-Review (cigar)
I saw a couple of posts saying these might be worth a try, so I ordered
some.
Size: Medium (Corona) -- I think 5" x 42
Wrapper: Natural (I think)
Cigars International has these in their current catalog and said "many
have been calling (these) comparable to La Gloria Cubano".
I had these in the dor for ten days and couldn't resist--I had to find
out whether I could start smoking these guys or whether they would have
to take a long rest.
I had a wonderful dinner of barbecued steak, corn, salad before I hit
the front deck with the smoke.
The cigar lit easily, burnt evenly, gave off plenty of smoke.
It didn't taste like a LGC but the taste was pleasant, reminding me a
little bit of a Maria Mancini Magic Mountain.
About half-way through the cigar hit me--hard. I started to feel a
little faint.
The last cigar that did that to me was a Joya de Nicaragua Machito.
So, I let the cigar (and me) rest a few minutes before finally nubbing
it. Total smoke time (including a fif**** minute rest) of close to an
hour.
As I fell asleep shortly thereafter it finally hit me that this must
have been an apprentice of that "other' El Credito cigar, El Rico
Habano.
These are a steal at 30 bucks for 25 of them if you like 'em strong.
