Default Gourd calabashes

I'm an absolute newbie concerning gourd calabashes, but were/are these
things also made with porcelain inserts instead of meerschaum? I came
across one that has what appears to be a glaze (a la porcelain) on it.
The glaze is very hard, shiny, has that "crackled" look similar to old
porcelain, and is impervious to alcohol. It also just looks and feels
different, too. The gourd is real, the stemwork is outstanding
compared to my other one, and it has been smoked, but I was
wondering...how does it compare to the meer version? The fit and
finish is excellent, so I would hope it smokes decently as well.
However, I've never smoked porcelain before. Anyone familiar?

I have one porcelain calabash that I have never smoked, but I have
smoked some porcelain pipes before, and they smoked well..
Give it a shot and let us know what you think of the smoke.
