Default Herbert Hoover.

Hoover (1874-1964) was an interesting guy. Self-made millionaire,
mining engineer, humanitarian, President, and later symbol of
right-wing Republican opposition to the Democratic Party after 1933, he
was a primarily a cigar smoker until after he left the White House.

He had his own special tobacco mixture blended for him by the
University Club at Columbia.

Austin nice post. I have a interesting piece of Presidential memorabilia. It
is a stamp with Hurbert Hooverıs face and name etched into it from L H S
Stern Pipe Co. The stamp was pressed into the bowl of the pipe and the pipes
were given away as an election promotional gift. It was used during the
election of 1928. Herbert Hoover vs. Al Smith. There is a link below with a
picture of the stamp.

Hi Austin and others,
Furthermore, Herbert Hoover was a fly hisher and according to Howell
Raines' book called _Fly Fishing through the Midlife Crisis_ Hoover
took advantage of his presidency e.g. in getting the privilege to sole
fishing in certain waters.
I believe e.g. Mark Tinsky and some other flyfishing ASPers could
enjoy this book a lot.

Mellow puffs and dry ashes!

Antti,

It is a very enjoyable book. Talks about a lot of places I have
backpacked, hiked or boated.
