The Latakia blends that grab me are the sweet ones. Smoking Krumble
Kake right now, and actually enjoying it, which is a suprise, as I'm a
Latakia-phobe.

I'm with Ian...What little campfire weed I smoke is paired with sweeter
Va's. Penzance, Germain Special Latakia Flake, Tavern Blackbeard's , F/T
Wingate and SG Navy Flake come to mind. All stuff a latakia sufficianado
would label as whimpy, save Penzance.

Latakia is a dark world indeed..There's something mysterious about the
effect it has on a person. I smoked my first bowl a decade ago.Frog
Morton it was. When I smoke a bowl of something else now my taste buds
cry out in anger.Latakia is where it's at for this old pipe
smoker.There's so many good blends around these days.Pipe smoking just
gets better,and better.

One of the more overlooked treasures of this dark and vaporous realm
of pleasure is SG's Commonwealth Mixture. It's not just another
monochromatic latakia dump but certainly enough to keep one comming
back - not to slight GLP's blends in the least. Got a few cans of
different versions of these and others put back - just in case things
get dry. I also tell myself that a little can life helps things just
get better - did that with a can of Black Mallory for 10 yrs and was
not disappointed. Might have been able to keep it going longer but it
started to eat thru the can.
