I've been smoking pipes for over 16 years.
You'd think that I would be past this crap.
I can't remember the last time I burned my tongue.
But here I sit with a scorched tongue.
Why?
Hell, I don't know.
I was smoking some fine tobacco, which usually smokes cool.
And smoking it in a very cool-smoking pipe.
But I got distracted.
And I was smoking and reading and thinking and forgot about the smoking....
And it tasted great and I wasn't mindful of my smoking.
And I guess I smoked too fast.
And I burned my G-damned tongue.

I discovered that a great source of tongue burn is reading ASP! Up until Jan
or Feb of this year I had been an avid daily reader and poster. was
constantly thinking about what to smoke next and was actually smoking a lot
more than I would have been had I not been reading ASP. I had an almost
permanent case of tongue or mouth burn and didn't even realise it. In the
last few months of minimal reading I found my tongue and mouth got back to
normal and it has been a revelation in terms of taste. So now I'm only
smoking when I really want to smoke rather than just to appease (pun
intended) all the blends I have sitting around calling to me.
