Default Looking for a neat tamper

Just wondering if you all have seen any really interesting tampers.
In the olden days I could buy them made out of briar for $5-$10, after
a quick google search I can't seem to find that many...at least on the
net.

Also, I can't afford the $1,500 type...gee some paydays I can't afford
the $1.50 type.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

I like Ming-Kahuna tampers. http://www.ming-kahuna.com You probably
won't find anything at $1.50, but you will find some truly amazing stuff.

If you're looking for an acrylic tamper with a brass end....try the $5
Nording tamper fron Mars. Mine works great with the top working well as a
scoop to clear ashes. No pick, though. I've seen them on the net for double
Mars' price and more.

Ron:

I have a nice Bjarne wood pipe tamper/tool that might match what you
say you are looking for. And it won't break the bank at Monte Carlo
either. See it at:

Of course, I'm still mourning the loss of an ivory tamper I bought many
years ago. As far as I can tell, in today's world it is pretty much
irreplaceable.

Jim

Hi Ron,

I'd like to sell a tamper made of borosilicate glass that a friend and
I made. Pictures are available at
http://home.cinci.rr.com/brosenfield/tamper.html, and I'm flexible on
price.

You can e-mail me at mr_longstem AT hotmail DOT com.

Try www.briarandbrass.com . A friend of mine and I dabble in the tamper
business.

Ya' can't go wrong with a Ming. I also love my friend Martin Rominjn's

I don't see the point of listing
all those sold tampers on Mr Rominjn's site.
In fact its quite irritating.

He might do it for the same reason I do. It's a quick reference to remind me
of what was sold and for how much. Once the buyer gets the stuff and is
happy with it I then take the sold stuff off (if I can get myself offa' my
lazy ass which sometimes takes a week or so.) so maybe it's the same with
Martin.
