Folks..I thought i was through talking about my shed.I'm sure you hoped i was.I
gotta tell you this last story about it though.Unknown to me some sorry ass
wasps built a nest on it.Yesterday they swarmed all over me,and i got stung.Now
i hate these little demons with a passion.This declaration of war was not to go
unanswered.I applied some ice,and some anti itch cream.Then i lit my pipe,
started smoking and plotting their demise..Last night after dark i sneaked up
on the shed with a can of wasp spray,and soaked their butts good..This morning
i'm drinking coffee,and smoking my first bowl with a smile on my face.Those
evil creatures are in the after life.The world is a better place.

How barbaric. Those wasps have a culture which goes back hundreds of years,
and a very real claim to your shed. Did you even try to reason with them?
They used the only method available to them to get you to understand their
plight, yet you callously kill them - in their homes with their families!

Also, I just talked with Sean Penn, and he told me the wasps didn't even
have stingers. Your obvious imperialism will not go unpunished.

As am I. When the neighbor's crazy dog is clearly the larger threat,
how do you justify attacking wasps that have only defended their
territory, but not attacking the vicious dog?

Just a bit of country / backwoods medicine, useful for those outdoorsy
pipesmokers:

A poultice of tobacco does wonders for stings and bites from insects.
The nicotine acts as a topical astringent and minimizes the swelling.

My great-grandpa despised wasps. He HATED them, and any other hive-building
animal (ants, yellowjackets, bees, except cultivated ones). He hated them
enough that he would get stung in order to more satisfactorily destroy them.
His favorite thing to do was throw some kerosene on a nest, wait for it to
affect the animals (he said it made them groggy, I don't know if this is
true), knock it off the tree/house, light it on fire, and smack it with a
baseball bat or golf club. Apparently, it was quite a spectacle, though his
wife banned him from doing it when he caught a corner of the house on
fire...

My Brother,Sister and Son have an unreasonable fear of wasps and
bees.Because my Father,Mother,Mother in Law,my Wife and myself have no
such fear,I wonder if it is genetically determined.I know people that
have such an unreasonable fear of snakes or spiders.It seems that those
afraid of snakes are seldom afraid of spiders and those predisposed to
fear spiders are not unreasonably afraid of snakes.Has anyone else
noticed this phenomenon,or am I imagining things?
