Default New guy & Rattray's

Hi folks...I've been lurking on this board for several weeks, and I
finally have a question that is just burning a hole in my mind. I
came across some discussion of the Rattray's labeling in the archives,
but no definite answers on when their tobacco was blended "by" or
"for" Charles Rattray. I ordered some tobacco (mail order - oh my!).
My tins of Hal O' the Wynd (glossy, darker label) were "by", my Old
Gowrie (glossy, darker label) were "for", and my Marlin Flake (matte,
lighter color) were "by". It REALLY doesn't matter, since I begin my
"cellar time" at purchase, but idle curiosity has gotten the best of
me. Any ideas? Thanks.
