The NOTPC held it's monthly meeting last Thursday. As usual it was a
lot of fun for everyone. There was plenty of discussion about tobaccos
and pipes of course. Danish pipe makers seemed to be the main topic
of discussion. There were a few fabulous pipes there from guys like
Teddy and Jess...to drop just a couple of names. Fritz Becker, not a
Dane, was discussed as well. Brian Ruthenberg was in attendance and I
bought a beautiful quarter bent sandblast from him. I think his work
is improving every day. He definatly belongs in the class of elite
American pipe makers. Did I mention there was free pizza? Oh, my
Scottish ale was as tasty as usual. For all those living in the metro
Detroit area who have never attended, you should stop by and enjoy
your hobby with us. The meetings intensiy my already passionate
feeling for pipe smoking and I am sure they do the same for all of the
