Perhaps someone can help me here...

Like many ASP-ers, I am using my computer for the UD cancer project. Until
recently, it ran in the background without any trouble. But in the last
couple of months, something about the way it "talks" to my computer has
changed. As a result, I get virus warnings from Norton that I have to
instruct Norton to ignore. If it were just a few, it would be no big deal.
But it is almost constant. In the time it has taken for my to type this
post, I've had the warning window pop up 19 times. Each time, I have to
stop typing, move my mouse and tell Norton to permit the incoming
communication from the outside computer. For many months, this did not
happen. Now it happens every time my computer connects to UD. I've done
nothing to change Norton, so it must be the way UD is sending information
that has changed.

Anyway, I am considering withdrawing from the project. I don't want to.

Can anyone help me?

Hey Sean. I don't know why it would do that, but you could try
writing to the UD people, or posting on their bulletin board. It
hasn't been happening to me, and no one else has mentioned it.
Possibly you have a trojan that someone wrote to take advantage of
distributed computing. If so, that would be particularly low.
