Sorry to respond to my own post but I decided I don't like the subject
title. It isn't supporting tobacco companies who may well be guilty of
questionable practices concerning making cigarettes more addictive. The
point is to show where responsibility for smokers' health really lies.

Not to worry. Besides, I'm not sure that the tobacco companies
are "guilty" of anything except perhaps for responding to their
customers' desires for more, and more quickly absorbed, nicotine.
After all, cigarette smokers are after nicotine, aren't they?
They certainly don't seem to be looking for flavor! ;-)

Here's my problem with this:

By and large, "tobacco companies" are "cigarette companies". I have to
wish at all to support them until and unless the practice of permitting
cigarette smoking but prohibiting pipe smoking in businesses comes to a
complete and total end. You ban me? I weep not at all if you are banned
by everybody else.

I understand your problem but I don't think it is cigarette companies that
are responsible for it. In the eyes of anti smokers all tobacco use is the
same. I'm talking about court cases where the tobacco companies are being
made liable for health decisions which properly belong to us the smokers.
