Default Unaged tobacco

I keep seeing posts about tobacco that's been aged for
months/years and I was wondering if there's any that's
good without aging?

I've only just started smoking a pipe and haven't had time to age
any yet.

A LOT of it is! You just have to try stuff until you find what you like.
Then buy more and store some to age.

It is all good unaged, but some just get much better with age.

Absolutely, Steven! Almost every tobacco you will find on the shelves
of your tobacconist should smoke just fine from the get - go.

Wouldn't it be kind of weird if it were the other way round? Imagine going
to the shop, get some baccy, and have to wait for a few years before you can
open it, since fresh it's going to be terrible ...

"I only recently started this pipe hobby, I got my first tin 3 years ago"

Yeah right.

It's good the way it is, and in some cases it just gets better if you have
patience. If you don't, just smoke it all. You'll find you can enjoy that
just as well. Besides, not all blends benefit from aging.

Smoke what you like,

IMHO most blends are great as blended, without special aging, the thing is,
like wine, they get better with age.

I think I've read that Burley does not change with age, so aging it is
unimportant.

Hmm.. I have a tin of Penzance that I picked up in 1999 that I haven't had
the heart to open yet. Any idea what that might be like now?

Not sure, but I've got a tin from 2000 that I'm going to open pretty soon.
Hmmm. . . . Maybe tonight. I'll get back to you!
