Default WOW!! what a buzz!!......

i just got my order from mars cigars, with some C&D bayou morning,
plantation evening, two friend's redwood, and some GLP haddo's
delight. all GREAT tobaccos. in particular, it's been a long time
since i've had a new tin of haddo's, and had forgotten just how good
it is. i also forgot how it has a real nicotine punch! right now i'm
puffing some in my big homemade freehand and snuffing some F&T high
dry toast (another favorite) and am seriously high! don't think it
will get any better than this until our government gets its' head out
of its' a** and legalizes pot. thank you, greg pease!
smokey, head buzzing and hoping this post makes sense.

I think I am uncomfortable with this...can you believe it? Now don't
get me wrong when I was younger I loved the feel of sticky bud being
packed into a bong or some excellent 4 way or downers, speed, mesc and
on and on.
But I am not sure I am comfortable with this. Pipe smoking can mean
anything to anyone they want it to be, but for me its something other.
A place where serenity can be found...I dunno must be I am old...44
sucks. I don't want to get high smoking tobacco. No war or flames or
junk ok, I just don't have the heart for it. I guess I always
asscoiated pipe smoking with people like C.S. Lewis or a grandfather
type, i dunno....enjoy what you smoke and eat your vegatables.

I'm afraid I'm with you on this one T. For me, I started with the pipe
because of memories of my grandfather and mental images of those you
mentioned; C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, and the likes. I would hate to see my
serene and thoughtful hobby treated by the media in the same vein as
marijuana and mushrooms, essentially relegating me to the same level as that
of a druggie sleeping under the freeway.

My $.02.

Haddo's is a hall of fame tobacco, that's for sure. If you and your
wife ever want to try a perique blend with a little less "kick", try
C&D's #067 Bayou Morning. I just got a pound and can't keep my hands
off it (unless, of course, I'm smoking Haddo's).
Smokey puffing Bayou Morning and Haddo's alternately, and snuffing
Garrett's sweet mild.

Please don't get me wrong. I am not an advocate of legalizing
marijauana nor condone it.(trying to be bias here) It was just that
Alaska is going through another one of it's stages where everyone
thinks it is ok to possess marijuana (police will not prosecute if
they find any amount less than 4 ounces) It's a touchy subjuect up
here.

What was ironic was that fact coupled with the fact that I had just
cracked my first tin of Haddo's and brought to my wifes attention.

I am an advocate of legalizing marijuana, or rather regulating it. In
fact I throughly enjoyed growing my own and smoking as much as I could
consume as a teenager and in my early 20's. But pipes are something
different and I just hate to see "buzz factor" in tobacco figured in
quality.

tobacco is sacred, reefer is good for ice cold milk and brownies, (sex
while high is pretty fun too lol) but it has been so damn long now I
am not even sure I would enjoy it. two way different animals. I ain't
jammin ya dude...don't take it that way...

Potency can't be ignored, for many tobaccos, it is an element of their
personality, as much as color or flavor.
I have to agree, looking for a tobacco that gives maximum nicotine seems a
bit...I don't know, wrong.

When I was a kid, the thought of drinking everclear was really cool...come
on..99.99% alcohol....wow, great.
buzz yes, but a drink I want to drink...hell no!

5 Brothers...hellish nicotine buzz.... do i want to smoke it all the
time...? Hell no!!

Anyway, I guess what I am trying to say in all this blathering, in pipe
tobacco, I like balance, hmm, I guess i want that in life too....

Where the hell was I going with this???

Don't know..

Hmmm. I don't remember much of a nic-kick from Haddo's, but then, the
only tobacco that's ever done me that way was that brown Irish rope
stuff from Gawith. I learned the hard way to smoke that outdoors.
Arrrgghh.
