Yep, it's worth it. Butane lighters, no matter how fancy or well-made, are
pretty much useless outside, in a breeze. Zippo pipe lighters are virtually
windproof, and as reliable a lighter as will ever be found.

I use both butane and zippo pipe lighters.Zippo's can be bought for
under twenty bucks and are very convenient when travelling, working in
the yard or in the garage when I would'nt want to expose my
Corona,Dunhill or Dupont to possible abuse. The Zippo's work well and
are easily replaced... Enjoy, Dock

The way I understand it is this. Any Zippo lighter can be bought with
the pipe chimney insert for an addtional one dollar. I assume you have
to order from the Zippo catalog for that. I doubt if you go to the
local gas station and they have your favorite Zippo exterior they will
honor that request. A catalog is easy to get. there are also a number
of large, online Zippo retailers. I did get a 1941 replica from one
with the pipe chimney added to the mix for one dollar. They still
included the regular chimney. can't remember the nme of the retailer.

You won't be disappointed with that choice! I recently got one and it is
great!

These are great lighters. I believe you can even put the insert into your
favorite Zippo case (although the fit might be tight).

Mine sure didn't.

As far as I'm concerned, Ronsonol is good for taking tar off my rocker
panels and Zippo is good for putting into my lighters.

Todd, I purchased my Thunderbirds with the idea that I could swap the insert
into some of my niftier Zippo cases. Unfortunately, I found the fit to be
far too tight. In fact, it was so tight that I was concerned that the
insert might be damaged by putting it in and/or removing it. All things
considered, I decided to just let the Zippos be Zippos.
