I had have the Consuegras and Old Fashioned Honduras in both natural
and Maduro and have been very pleased with both. However there is a
new entry(within the last year or so) Called (at JR, Rothamn Bros and
at Mike's just plain) Funadores.
Anyone ever had them? How do they rate? Right now ther best deal I
have found on any of these is 2 bundles of 20 for less than $40 for
7x50.

Appreciated the feedback.

That's great, however, they are not rolled in the same factories.

Ah, there they are. Well... looking @ the robustos. 20 of them costs
roughly the same as 25 consuegras. Read the little write up about them, and
it sounds an awful lot like the write up for connies. I'd stick with the
connies, they're simply cheaper cigars.

I don't know if they're the same cigars; according to JR's, the
Rothman Brothers Fundadores are an old house brand that has been revived.


I bought a box of the RB Fundadores Rothschilds late last year. Good
medium-full-bodied smokes IMHO -- similar to, but not quite on a par
with, JR Ultimates.

I think that the JR Ults are an extremely good cigar and the RB
Funadores are about half the cost. I thought that the Price when they
originally were launched at JR made me want to stick with the Connies,
but the latest Mike's Catalog has them for about $25/bundle now making
them cheaper than the Connies. The best deal that I have run across
as stated earlier was the OF Honduras 6 7/8x48 - $38/40 vs the
Funadores for $25/20 and the Connies for $26/25. We aren't talking a
lot of money, but all of us that smoke them know how difficult it is
to get the 48-54 ring sizes in Maduro and it's nice to have a plan B,C
and so on.
BTW
I just did a comparison of the photos and the Rothman Bros. Funadores
and the Funadores at Mike's have the same band around the bundle.
