As the result of a tragic pipe rack accident (note: never locate your pipe
rack on a shelf above a cement floor) I broke the churchwarden stem of my
Stanwell HCA pipe. Anyone know if I can just order a replacement (from
where?) or is my only option having a new custom stem made.

You don’t need a custom-made stem. You do need to have a replacement stem
custom-fitted to your pipe by a competant repair person. Here are three:
I would guess that the replacement stem job would be around $20.

I have a spare one that I’d be willing to swap for a new tin of Samuel

Smoke a pipe as long as you control when it gets smoked. When the pipe
calls out to you more than you call out to it, step away for a while. This
applies to all things. Live your life, don’t live for the things in it.

I feel for you, I have a HCA also, and love it. I would at least try
going back to Stanwell, here’s their address:
